Texas Instruments introduced the industry's first SuperSpeed USB (USB 3.0) transceiver, which is capable of lightning-fast data transfers when compared to USB High-Speed devices (USB 2.0). Featuring receiver sensitivity that is twice as good as required by the USB 3.0 specification, the TUSB1310's PIPE3 and ULPI interfaces enable USB 3.0 functionality when used in conjunction with the integrated application processor digital cores. The 5-gigabits-per-second (Gbps) USB 3.0 physical layer transceiver operates from a single crystal or external reference clock with selectable frequencies from 20, 25, 30 and 40 MHz. This allows the TUSB1310 to provide a cost-effective USB 3.0 solution with few external components and minimum implementation cost.

Texas Instruments introduced the industry's first 6-gigabit per second (Gbps) dual serializer-deserializer IC (SerDes) that enables continuous data rate support from 470 megabits per second (Mbps) up to 6.25 Gbps for wireless applications. The TLK6002 supports speed migration from legacy to new faster speeds in the OBSAI and CPRI standards required for all wireless base station designs. The TLK6002 can be used in a wide variety of wireless infrastructure applications including WiMAX, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and CDMA2000.

Analog Devices Delivers Radio Frequency ICs with Breakthrough Integration for Broadband Communications Equipment
Analog Devices announced today two new RF ICs for broadband communications systems that reduce component count by more than 75 percent, without compromising performance. The ADRF6655 active mixer or ADRF6510 dual programmable filter and VGA (variable gain amplifier) integrate multiple functions and discrete devices into a single monolithic chip, reducing component count by a factor of four when compared to traditional discrete RF designs. ADI is the only RF IC supplier to offer devices with this level of integration and with the capability to address multiple broadband communications markets, such as point-to-point microwave radios, wireless base stations, cable infrastructure, defence wideband and software-defined radios, cellular repeaters and relays, and communications test equipment.

Inphi Introduces 40 Gbps TIA for Very Short Reach Applications and Next-Generation Networks
Inphi Corporation, a high-speed analog semiconductor company, today introduced its 4336TA Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) for next-generation Small Form-Factor 40 Gbps Very Short Reach (VSR) transponder modules. The new 4336TA is a high-gain TIA that enables transponders to achieve high-sensitivity and high-overload performance over a wide range of temperatures and supply voltages. As a result, Inphi helps its customers simplify the design, production and installation of 40 Gbps serial components and equipment. A single IC provides a fully integrated downconversion channel, with 24.3dBm (typ) of IIP3, 8.7dB (typ) of conversion gain, and a 9.7dB (typ) noise figure.
MAX4951BE: eSATA redriver with dynamic power-saving mode supports SATA 6Gbps speeds
Maxim introduces the MAX4951BE, a dual-channel buffer designed to redrive eSATA/SATA signals while supporting data rates up to 6.0Gbps and extending battery life with two power-saving modes. This device preserves signal integrity at the receiver by reestablishing full output levels, and it can reduce total system jitter (TJ) by squaring the signal. Selectable preemphasis and programmable equalization allow the signal to be redriven across long traces, thereby increasing layout flexibility. The MAX4951BE is designed for applications such as notebook computers in which the user needs to push the signal through docking-station connectors, onto a mezzanine board, and through an external connector while being compliant with the Serial ATA International Organization: Serial ATA Revision 3.0 specification. It is also well suited for desktops and servers that must carry signals over long cables and boards while overcoming losses on the PCB and in the eSATA connector.
