Amplicon announces iCON series of Ethernet Extenders
Ethernet extenders use DSL (Digital Subscriber Line – technology used by Telcos to transmit high-speed broadband data from the telephone exchange to your house over your phone line) to extend Ethernet links up to 10km over a single pair of low-grade copper wires. The units operate transparently as part of an existing network with no drivers to install or complex setup procedures. All 'IP' traffic that could be sent across a standard patch cable can be sent across an Ethernet Extender link.

New 6-digit display allows data display from RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces
The new SerialDis display , available from Celsum Technologies, is a packaged in a rugged ABS housing sealed to IP65, and is ideal for when a data display driven by an RS232 or RS485 interface in required. SerialDis has six bright, red, 7-segment LEDs, nominally 20mm high, that can be programmed to display data. from a PC or directly from a suitably configured device. Celsum offers several such devices, such as the radio telelmetry T24-SO serial output model, and some models of both the DSC Digital Strain Card and DCell Digital Strain Puck digital-output conditioning amplifers for strain gauge devices. Single or multi-drop devices are supported, since SerialDis has addressing support.
