Actel achieves Quality Milestone for FPGAS

News Release from: Actel Europe Ltd
24/04/2006

Actel has announced that Defense Supplier Center Columbus (DSCC) has released Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) numbers for its high-reliability, radiation-tolerant RTAX2000S, RTAX1000S and RTAX250S devices.

Signaling compliance with the Department of Defense’s MIL-PRF-38535 performance standard, designers can utilise SMD numbers to specify the high-performance RTAX2000S field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for their space-flight applications. The SMD release, a key industry recognition of high quality, enables designers to more easily procure and utilise the high-performance RTAX-S devices in their space technology designs and across all DoD programs.

Today, Actel also announced that it is pursuing QML class V certification for the RTAX-S family. The highest level of screening for space parts within the QML program, class V certification verifies that quality processes and qualification data have been examined and approved by DSCC, SMC and NASA.
Actel is working to implement the screening process by the end of 2006 and plans to have QML-V certified RTAX-S product availability by the end of 2007.
