TI's OMAP 2 applications processor powers new Fujitsu smart phones

Texas Instruments (TI) has announced that its OMAP2430 applications processor was selected to deliver advanced multimedia capabilities to Fujitsu's new F1100 smart phone. The new Fujitsu handset, which also uses TI's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity technology, is the first Windows Mobile phone available with NTT DoCoMo's FOMA technology.

Fujitsu’s 3G F1100 handsets uses the OMAP2430 processor to deliver leading-edge audio, video and imaging capabilities, including a QVGA display, 1.3 mega pixel camera capabilities and a microSD card slot. The phone also leverages TI’s BlueLink™ Bluetooth® and WiLink™ Wi-Fi (a/b/g) solutions for connectivity capabilities.

The F1100 also uses power management and analog technology from TI. The phone is available on the market today.
