The potentiometers' power rating has also been increased, from 2 W to 3 W. The long-life performance of the P30L reduces the need for replacement parts, increasing reliability and lowering maintenance costs. Its rotational life of 2 million cycles represents at least a 20-fold improvement over standard potentiometers, which typically reach 50,000 to 100,000 cycles. 
Bourns Rotary Magnetic Encoders for Harsh Environment ApplicationsBourns has introduced the EMS22, a new line of rotary magnetic encoders that offer design flexibility along with enhanced reliability and better performance than traditional optical and contacting encoders.
