RoHS compliant mini-joystick has a total height of just 4.5mm

knitter-switch's TSSJ 5 is a five direction, surface mount switch that needs a board area of just 7.4mm x 7.4mm and which features a total height of only 4.5mm.

The TSSJ 5 is lead free and, thanks to its LCP material base, is lead free solderable. It features a contact rating of 12VDC @ 50mA, a maximum contact resistance of 100mO and an operating temperature range of -20 to +70ºC. Storage temperature range is between -40 to +85ºC.

With operating forces of 3.2N for the centre and 1.6N for each of the four directions, knitter-switch claims a minimum life for the TSSJ 5 of 100,000 cycles. Applications are expected to cover industrial, consumer and home automation products.

knitter-switch says its TSSJ 5 switches are available from stock and from a number of distributors throughout Europe. Samples are usually available on next day delivery.
