KEMET expands its HiCV and large case size SMD Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor ranges

Kemet has announced a range expansion for its EIA 1812 and EIA 1210 case size Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs). The EIA 1812 range extension includes 4.7µF, 50V devices plus 6uF and 10µF 25V rated parts. The EIA 1210 extensions cover the same capacitance and voltage values but in a smaller package for applications where space is restricted.

Both ranges are offered with an X7R dielectric and have an operating temperature range of -55ºC to +125ºC. Zero bias capacitance shift is limited to ±15% over that range. Capacitance tolerances of ±10% (K) and ±20% (M) are available.

KEMET’s EIA 1812 capacitors offer a robust design in a surface-mount package making them ideal for applications such as input/output filters in DC-DC converters, power supply bypass, LCD modules and smoothing circuits. HiCV EIA 1210 parts are suited to both automotive and consumer-orientated applications and devices such as laptop computers, digital cameras, gaming systems, LCDs, handheld devices, plus other equipment where available PCB real estate is limited.

100% pure matte, tin-plated terminations give superior solderability; tin/lead terminations are also available for customers needing capacitors for high-reliability and military applications. All capacitors meet the requirements of the Automotive Electronic Council’s AEC-Q200-Rev C.
