ACAL Technology co-sponsorise un groupe d'étudiants pour concevoir, construire et faire courir deux prototypes de voitures électriques et hybrides basés sur des châssis de Citroën Deux Chevaux (2CV). Une équipe de 31 étudiants de 3ème cycle du Group T de l'École d'ingénieurs de Louvain et de la haute école Karel de Grote d'Anvers (toutes deux situées en Belgique), compte faire courir ses 2CV dans la catégorie « Prototypes » aux 24H du circuit de Spa-Francorchamps en Belgique, en octobre 2010.

ACAL Technology co-sponsors students to design and race electric-drive and hybrid cars
ACAL Technology is co-sponsoring a group of students to design, build and race prototypes of an electric and a hybrid car based on the Citroën 'Deux Chevaux' (2CV) chassis. A team of 31 post-graduate students, from Group T, Leuven Engineering College, and Antwerp Karel de Grote University College, will race the two converted 2CVs in the 'Experimental' class of the 24-hour, 24H24 race on the Francorchamps circuit, France, in October 2010.

ACAL Plc has appointed Paul Webster as UK Managing Director for ACAL Technology and BFi OPTiLAS.
Webster joins ACAL after more than 30 years in component distribution. Before joining the company he held the position of Head of Product Management at Electrocomponents Plc., where he was responsible for the implementation of electronics strategy throughout Europe and APAC and the introduction of over 60000 new products to their range. During his career Webster has held senior level management roles including Vice President of Marketing, EMEA for Avnet Inc., and sales and marketing roles at the Macro Group and ITT Electronic Services.

ACAL Technology signs agreement with Swissbit for UK and France
ACAL Technology have signed a technical distribution agreement, covering the UK and France, with Europe's largest independent DRAM module and Flash storage manufacturer, Swissbit. Automated waterproof pedometer for swimmers uses Bosch Sensortec triaxial accelerometer
ACAL Technology has helped to bring the first automatic waterproof pedometer to market. The Pool-Mate 'swimming computer' eliminates the need for swimmers to press buttons to record performance data whilst in the pool. Using the Bosch Sensortec BMA020 triaxial accelerometer IC, the Pool-Mate displays and stores the session time, average strokes per length, speed, distance, calories and efficiency as well as rest times between lengths for the overall session, and for each individual set.

ACAL Technology, and Napier Partnership Ltd, have co- sponsored the media production course at the University of Chichester. The students were tasked to create fun viral videos incorporating silicon chips and other electronic components in order to promote ACAL Technology. Each video was judged on various criteria, including production quality and the likelihood that it would spread virally, by a panel of judges from ACAL and Napier, and the winning team was awarded £100 worth of iTunes vouchers.

Acal Proposes Acquisition Of Bfi Optilas S.A.S.
Acal has announced that it has agreed to acquire the entire issued share capital of BFi OPTiLAS (the "Acquisition"). BFi OPTiLAS is a private specialised distributor of electronic and photonic components, modules and systems across Europe, as well as supplying value-added calibration and maintenance services. BFi OPTiLAS will be acquired for a consideration of €10 million payable in cash and 2 million Acal ordinary shares to be issued on completion (the "Consideration").
