ESA36 Series of 36W Plug-Top Power Adaptors From Powersolve Meet CEC Requirements
Powersolve just announced the ESA36 Series of plug-top adaptors designed to accept a wide 90 to 264VAC input while providing single outputs from 9 to 24VDC. They meet the latest CEC requirements, feature efficiency levels to Energy Star Level V (V2.0) and a no load input power of 0.3W max.
2.4MHz Step-Down DC/DC Converter Draws Only 85µA of Quiescent Current & Withstands 80V Transients
Linear Technology has announced the LT3980, a 2A, 58VIN step-down switching regulator with Burst Mode operation to maintain quiescent current under 85µA. The LT3980 operates within a VIN range of 3.6V to 58V, with overvoltage lockout protection against transients as high as 80V, making the device ideal for load dump and cold-crank conditions commonly found in automotive applications. Its internal 3.4A switch can deliver up to 2A of continuous output current at voltages as low as 0.79V. The LT3980's Burst Mode operation provides ultralow quiescent current, well suited for applications such as automotive or telecom systems, which have always-on circuits and demand optimal battery life.

Diodes Incorporated has introduced the first products from its proprietary DIOFET process that monolithically integrates a power MOSFET and anti-parallel Schottky diode into a single die. Used in the low side MOSFET position of synchronous buck point-of-load (PoL) converters, the DMS3014SSS and DMS3015SSS improve the efficiency and lower the operating temperature of fast switching PoL converters in high volume computing, telecom and industrial applications.

Silicon Labs today introduced a universal serial bus (USB) touch screen bridge IC that streamlines the connection between touch controllers and host CPUs in computing systems with large displays. Silicon Labs' new CP2501 USB touch screen bridge provides a programmable, easy-to-use USB interface for laptops, tablets, eBooks, mobile Internet devices (MIDs), kiosks, ATMs and other point-of-sale (POS) equipment with touch screen displays.
MAX1441: Single-chip proximity/touch sensor solution for passive RKE systems
Maxim introduced the MAX1441, a fully integrated, 2-channel, proximity and touch sensor IC for automotive passive-entry (PRKE) and user-control systems. This device provides a complete, stand-alone solution that reduces system size and cost by at least 30% compared to the nearest competitive product.
Industrial TFT Range Mechanically Compatible with AMOLED Displays
Densitron has introduced a new series of industrial TFT displays which is mechanically compatible with and boasts performance akin to Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) displays. Displays in the new range have slim profile and come in 2.4", 2.8" and 4.3". They offer 800:1 high contrast ratio and long-term availability guarantee. Fringe Field Switching (FFS) technology is utilized by the displays to create up to 170° wide viewing angles in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Toshiba launches 24nm process NAND flash memory
Toshiba announced that it today started mass production of NAND flash memories fabricated with 24nm process technology. This latest technology advance has already been applied to 2bit-per-cell 64-gigabit (Gb) chips that are the world's smallest and offer the highest density on a single chip (8 gigabytes (GB), and which are available from today. Toshiba will also add 32Gb and 3bit per cell products fabricated with the 24nm process technology to its product line-up.
Murata releases new series of common mode choke coils supporting USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Signals
Murata has released the DLP11TB series of 0504 chip common mode choke coils, which are designed to reduce undesirable radiation noise in electronic equipment. Murata's unique high-precision film inductor forming technology was mobilised to successfully attain an improved cut-off frequency in the transmission characteristics of these new choke coils compared with previous products. In the DLP11TB series, Murata has successfully boosted the cut-off frequency of the common mode choke coils to 8GHz or more, enabling USB3.0 SuperSpeed signals to be transmitted at more than satisfactory quality.
European collaborative research to develop lab-on-chip system for cheap and fast cancer diagnosis
Today, at the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) in Buenos Aires (Argentina), imec and its project partners announce the launch of the European Seventh Framework Project MIRACLE. The MIRACLE project aims at developing an operational lab-on-chip for the isolation and detection of circulating and disseminated tumor cells (CTCs and DTCs) in blood. The new lab-on-chip is an essential step towards faster and cost-efficient diagnosis of cancer.
TI completes acquisition of Spansion Japan wafer fabrication facility
Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE: TXN) has completed its acquisition of two wafer fabs and equipment in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan, cost-effectively increasing the company's production capacity. The facility was previously operated by Spansion Japan Limited (SJL) and was acquired under a court-approved plan of reorganization.
Sanmina-SCI named as Nujira Supplier of the Year
Nujira has presented its first ever Supplier of the Year award to Sanmina-SCI, in Shenzhen, China. Sanmina-SCI started volume production of the Nujira Coolteq™.h power modulator module for cellular base stations in December 2008. Nujira Coolteq modules can halve the energy consumption of 3G and 4G base stations by improving the efficiency of the RF transmission circuits.

The Web Shop, which was first demonstrated at SMT Hybrid & Packaging in Nurnberg in June, allows customers to order original Assembléon parts online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
