Actel announces new Flashpro4 programmer
Actel today announced FlashPro4, the newest hardware programmer supporting Actel's flash FPGAs: the IGLOO series and ProASIC3 series (including RT ProASIC3), SmartFusion(TM) and Actel Fusion families. FlashPro4 also supports FPGA embedded software program and debug managed by Actel's SoftConsole Integrated Design Environment (IDE) for embedded processors.

Low-Power, Small Form-Factor Op Amps From Microchip Help To Extend Battery Life
Microchip announces the MCP6401/2/4 operational amplifiers, which add to Microchip's general-purpose Op amp portfolio by providing lower power consumption in small packages. Featuring quiescent current of just 45 microamperes with a Gain Bandwidth Product (GBWP) of 1 MHz, the MCP6401/2/4 Op amps complement Microchip's eXtreme Low Power PIC® microcontrollers (MCUs), helping to extend battery life in a variety of applications which include music players, appliances and gaming consoles in the consumer sector; industrial barcode scanners and gas meters; automotive signal conditioning for proximity and tyre-pressure measurement sensors; and medical applications such as glucometers and portable patient-monitoring devices, among others.
Pulse and arbitrary function generator runs to 25 MHz
TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) has launched a lower-cost version of the best-selling TG5011 function/arbitrary/pulse generator. The new TG2511 has a maximum frequency of 25 MHz for sine and square waves and costs only £795. It offers similar facilities to the more expensive 50 MHz generator, but with proportionately lower maximum frequencies for pulse and arbitrary waveforms.

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator) model CRO3260A-LF in S-band. The CRO3260A-LF operates at 3203-3317 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5-4.5 Vdc. This VCO features a typical phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 42 MHz/V.

CSR plc announced the acquisition of Belfast-based APT Licensing Ltd, (APT), following a successful three year collaboration under the CSR eXtension Partner Programme, which saw APT's professional quality audio compression brought to consumers on CSR's wireless audio platforms.
